NE Redding covers the part of town east of the Sacramento River and north of Hwy 44 — a mix of established mid-century neighborhoods near the river, newer subdivisions in Mountain Gate, and acreage parcels stretching toward Tierra Oaks and the Bear Mountain corridor.

This is one of the more varied quadrants of Redding. Within a few miles you can go from walkable Lake Redding streets with mature trees, to brand-new construction in Mountain Gate, to gated estate lots in Tierra Oaks. Country Heights sits in the middle — a settled neighborhood with good access to schools, shopping along Hilltop Drive, and the Sacramento River trail system.
